Giving Tree Sponsored by the Builders Club

The Builders Club is sponsoring a Giving Tree until December 13. Members are asking staff, students and parents to make a donation of gloves, mittens, hats, socks, scarfs, or earmuffs in youth and adult sizes. Donations will be placed on the Giving Tree and distributed to families in our community who are in need.

School Board Adopts 2019-23 Capital Improvements Plan

The School Board has adopted its Capital Improvements Plan for 2019-2023. The top three priorities are a Robert E. Aylor Middle School replacement, a fourth high school and an addition/renovation at Armel Elementary School.

The Virginia School Boards Association has recognized Frederick County Public Schools as a 2017 Platinum Level Certified Green School Division. Just 14 school divisions from across Virginia earned the platinum level distinction this year.

Stantec Architecture Receives Gold Design Award for Frederick County Middle School

As part of the Virginia School Boards Association’s Exhibition of School Architecture, Stantec Architecture has been awarded the Gold Design Award for its design of Frederick County Middle School. The four winning projects were selected from 16 entries in the areas of new construction, renovation and adaptive use of existing space.

Accreditation Status Determined for Gainesboro Elementary School and Frederick County Middle School

The Virginia Board of Education has determined the 2017-18 accreditation status for Gainesboro Elementary School and Frederick County Middle School to be Partially Accredited: Reconstituted School. The accreditation status was assigned after it was determined that both schools are making adequate progress toward meeting state standards for full accreditation.
